Armed Forces Day - June 2015

June 28th was Armed Forces Day. The Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre were hosting a day of celebrations and fun for the whole family. There were military vehicles, model displays, charity events, local organisations and much more, even the local WWII spiv made an appearance! We're sure Jul's did a deal for a couple of pairs of nylons!

The PDSTdivegroup arrived early, quickly setting up our gazebo and Rigid Inflatable Boat ‘Guardian’. These and a display of artefacts from T9044 attracted a steady stream of visitors, intrigued by the sight of such unusual objects. ‘Guardian’ proved very popular with children, even though an Armoured Personnel Carrier was parked right next to us! Before we knew it, the day was over, Pembroke Dock’s Lord Mayor Councillor Peter Kraus, kindly did the honours and drew the winning tickets for our raffle, then it was time to pack up and make our way home.

Thanks go to David Pring, Rik Saldanha and Julie Humphreys who manned our pitch for the entire day.
